after the estate sale we checked out a cemetery i blogged about eons ago. the eavy mall ATE the best parts. POLTERGEIST! but checked out what i hadn't.

FERNANDEZ, DIEGO- spanish adventurer + historian of the 16th c. 1st intended for the church, but 1545 he embarked for peru, where he served in the royal army under alonzo de alvarado. mendoza, marquis of canete, who succeeded A as viceroy, bestowed on f the office of chronicler of peru. as this he wrote a narrative of the insurrection or giron, of the rebellion of gonzalo pizarro + the administration of gasca. published in 1571. well regarded.
FERNANDEZ, JOAM- aportuguese traveller, 15th c. early was a captive of barbary pirates. while w/ them, acquired knowledge of arabic, + his curiosity towards african geography. on regaining his freedom,joined an expedition + landed at the mouth of the ouro river, where exposed to hardship + danger. he spent 7 m a nomadic life w/ some of the native tribes, + acquired a 'lot of' information about the geography of the interior 1445. 2 years later explored cape blanco area. narrativ collected of his adventures.

ESTATE SALE BLOGGING
whitefish bay again, but easy to get to. AND 4 day sale. i knew i had to get there early. i did not want a bag. i had enough to list. wo, got there about 12. i knew from the photos. this was depression era house. nice canister set. NO LARD.
THAT IS WHY I HAD TO GO TO THIS SALE. plus a hat pin holder i was sure was gone. piano on other side of the room. i found a few things in the room.
then it was to the basement cause he web site had a LOT OF OLDER TOOLS. the BIG old green painted tool chest was there. my bamera was a bitch. a very nice desk. ishy drawers. so my $20 desk rocks again. alas very few tools, but i fished a few things out of a mixed box. i should have goten the ink. but i pawed thru a box of new outlet swuitces when OOH, a 2 headed scket. i squealed audibly and a guy nearby asked if i found something. OH YES! i just ebayed a similar 1 for $15+.
books not very interesting. back upstairs. i was looking at the dinning table of goodies and i grabbed a few things not expecting a bag. then i found the hat pit holder. NIPPON handpainted. THREE DOLLARS???? ITS NOT GONE???? MINE! i pulled a few things on a pile + then went to the back family room. and i spotted it. on a table. OH MY GOD. i quickly went over to grab it. went to my knees. i could not believe it. i have been keeping my eyes open for 1. a keith bowl. a fucking keith bowl. AND HE SIGNED IT. a nice keith bowl. my mom went back the desk area + heard bag sale soon. ok. feeding frenzy. so, i found more in the dinning room to take. ooh, depression glass. WHAT. nobody had gotten the east lake platter?
back to the family room. candles + cards + more things. OH MY! who missed the vintage XMAS LIGHTS! OH MY! i have an ebay e-pal who is a rabid xmas light, night light etc collector. WHITE bulbs are valued. THERE WAS 21 WHITE BULBS. only 1 red. well, soon i had 2 bags. 2 very full bags. AND A KEITH BOWL! i almost teared up.
there it is. the bowl. i ALWAYS take matches. bags of matches good. at home i opened the bag. OOOH! some ebayable ones. A PRE-CASTRO CUBAN ONE w. sand for the lighting. but it does not work. 
that leather thing was last minute. later i opened it. A GERMAN SKAT DECK! SHEPSHEAD! + that green mouse on the candle boxes. NEW HOARD! cute early 1900's swedish wood souvenir. awesome.
and a nice kashmir box. i will be good. ebay 2 to keep it. now i gotta get busy.
