ESTATE FIND – Antique WICKER DOLL BUGGY Original Paint-$168

A friend of mine chose one of the hottest days of the year to carry everything from the attic of one of those old three story homes in the Terrace Park area of Cincinnati, Ohio. I ended up with a LOT of the wonderful things he found, including the old lady’s wicker buggy from her childhood.

It is probably the mostly gently used and carefully stored example I’ve ever seen. I’m guessing 1920s or early 1930s, but I could be a little too conservative. What ever! Finding a better one would be danged near impossible.

When Papa stored it in the attic, he left the original “mattress and pillow” inside.

While carrying my purchases to my truck, I put several old crocks from the attic in the carriage and wheeled them out. It rolls just fine, and it’s strong.

Don’t you just love the curved triangle windows? They are aluminum with clear celluloid inserts.

If there is a name on it anyplace, I can’t find it. But remember: My eyes are as old as I am, and neither of us are as good as we once were. I’m just sayin’.
