ANTIQUE Chinese LOBED BOWL w BATS & BUTTERFLY, Footed-$35
I have a feeling this shaped and footed bowl is older than I first thought. When I first discovered it, I assumed 1890 or so. I think it’s quite a bit older.
Four bats are on the underside of the bowl, so it’s a happy bowl. You’ll notice the separation where the foot meets the underside of the bowl. Hey! It’s old! There are also some glaze lines.
There is a bug in there also. Look very, very closely, and you can see a couple thin, tight glaze lines inside the bowl. They won’t bother you at all. If you notice them, you’re too close.

Fine ANTIQUE Plush & LEATHER TOY – RARE - PLATYPUS-$47
Is there a possibility this delightful and beautifully made platypus was made by Steiff? The quality is certainly there, but I’m just not that familiar with the early Steiff line. If it is, I’ll betcha it’s a rare one. Heck! Even if it isn’t by Steiff, it’s bound to be rare. It is the first one I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been around since God wore short pants.
He’s 13” long and obviously quite old in spite of the really nice condition he’s in. I guess he wasn’t played with much.

Antique FOLK ART Candy Container BABY CHICK, Lidded BOX-$22 TOO CHEAP
I don’t really know what to call it, but it’s most certainly folk art. The lid (with the homemade chick “handle”) lifts off the round box. I think "candy container."
The chick appears to be hand formed from some sort of early composite material. Or – I wonder if it could be dough . . .
The chick lid is wood. The round “box” is heavy paper, and the “curl” in from mounted on the wooden platform looks like hair!
