RANDOM E BRITANNICA POST
CORREGGIO/COREGGIO/ANTONIO ALLEGRI- 1495-1534. italian painter. was born poor + low parents, or a rich noble family. father pellegrino allegri, comfortable tradesman from correggio. mom bernadina piazzoli degli aroman. carefully educated. not self taught. he used expensive + prescious colors on fine canvas or copper sheets. never attained much of a reputation in his lifetime blah blah between 1514-1520 C worked in fresco + oil for churches + convents. blah blah blah. (looks like jack frost looked at this entry pages a bit dirtier) in 1520, C married giroloma merlino, 16 yr old from manta w/ good dowry(his zigarella), 4 kids. she died in 1529. died in 1534 after short illness. pleursy? said to be brought about by bears. paid for a painting 50 scucli in copper coins which he carried home on hot day. his son pompomo, b 1521.

I was redoing road kill in oils. i did it all wrong. too anal, but i like this one at least the wolf. quite big. 40x60inch? one of the better oil roadkills.

COROT, JEAN BAPTISTE CAMILLE- 1796-1875/ french landscape painter. b. paris. ordinary education. apprenticed to a draper, but showed talent as a child, but prudence made father repress corot's leanings, til he was 26 and finally ecaped the trade. entered the atelier of Michallon + on death of his master in 1822, went to victor bertin, but did not learn much from either. escaped town + conventionality for a few years. in 1827 began to exhibit at 'the salon'. the sheeple did not take notice, but other artists saw hiss work + admired it(i know that). public recognition slow, til he was almost 70 + became wealthy. 2nd class medal in 1833. 1st class 1846+1848 + promoted officer in 1867. officer? one of the most original painters, socially he was frank + genial. loved the theatre.
