LARGE VINTAGE NAIVE POTTERY TURTLE w/ attitude + fat 'legs'- $19
In many years of poking around antiques & estate sales, I’ve never seen a turtle that matches this one.
He stands tall on sturdy legs and looks like he’d love to bite into anything or anyone who gets in his way.
The overall painted design looks Native American, but there’s no mark of any kind.
I’d say the pottery fellow has been around for 50 years—probably longer.
CONDITION: Good but not perfect. There are chips around the underside rim of shell—some affecting the top edges…but not in a hideous off-putting way.
TAIL Hey, he’s even got a tail…the potter didn’t forget a thing. Sure wish I knew more about this turtle guy. All I can tell is that he woke up grumpy and that will never change.
