[teapotdome]-harding's own personal involvement was minor and mostly permissive. while the comment made in june 2000 by knny boy that 'no member of the bush family has ever been on the payroll' is most certainly true, it is also irrelevent. much larger amounts of money than ever changed hands in teapot dome reached the bush family and their close political associates through multiple nonpayroll routes: hard-dollar PAC contributions, soft-dollar party contributions(bribes in my book), consulting fees, joint investment agreements, funding for presidential libraries, lucrative speech payments, contributions to the cost of inaugerals, hypothesized enron purchases of bush owned gas production, oil-well partnerships, and possibly even some of those off the books arrangemnets scattered around the world's many tax havens.
ONE MAVERICK, POLITICALLY EXPERIENCED WASHINGTON INVESTMENT BANKER, CATHERINE AUSTIN FITTS, CONCLUDED THAT THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION DID MANAGE A LATE 2001 ENRON BAILOUT OF SORTS BY FAILING TO SEIZE CONTROL OF ALL THE DOCUMENTS IN THE CASE, IN EFFECT ALLOWING EXTENSIVE SHREDDING BY ENRON AND AUTHOR ANDERSON ALIKE, AND PERMITTING THE JANUARY 2002 SALE OF ENRONONLINE, THE COMPANY'S TRADING VEHICLE, TO THE UNION BANK OF SWITZERLAND, A MAJOR ENRON CREDITOR. THAT SALE MAY HAVE CAUSED THE INFORMATION NEEDED TO EXPLAIN KEY PORTIONS OF WHAT HAPPENED TO PASS UNDER RESTRICTIVE SWISS LAW.

hmm, i wonder if this is why that movie was taken of the shelf. dang, i missed bob hope, but did catch him in the credits.'
by the way, my maternal grandpa always reminded me of bob hope. nobody else saw it in the family. i swear they are BLIND i say. look at his NOSE! if i could p[ost a pic you WOULD agree.
now, we had manchuian candidate. are thjey saving being there for october?
2 othe administration moves have been cited for less obvious pro-enron rescue designs. one was treas sec. paul o'neill's Feb 17 decision to REVIEW and thus DELAY Clinton's proposed crackdown on offshore tax havens. the 2nd was the inclusion in the post-SEPTEMBER 11 "STIMULOUS' PACKAGE, PROPOSED BY THE PRESIDENT IN OCTOBER, OF A PROVISION GIVING 3 LARGE CORPORATIONS-general motors. IBM and ENRON huge tax rebates for supposed overpayment of the federal alternate minimum tax. while enron's rebate would have been a whopping $254 MILLION, the DEMOCRATIC SENATE never seriously considered the proposal.
