i did have a post last night, but stoopid PC froze as i was hitting publish.

DAMMIT!

well, here it is, further adventures in estate sales.

i did 2 sales. although it was in west allis and pack rat territory and a treasre traders sale, it wasn't all that great. i did like their huge mushrooms on the lawn. amazing what you can do with 2 logs.
well, outside the garage i spied a 2ft? long wood planer. very primative and was it nice. even without the metal planer. ooh. 1/2 price day? only $5???? mine.
on the way to the basement, i spy red wing crocks. red wing is so pedestrian.
basement had a bar, ooh a beegees LP. already have that. not much. oh wait. look at that odd ceramic bird on the bar. $2??? MINE! despite it being blue, very interesting.
nothing in attic. met the black lady that ran the 5th street sale in the kitchen. spyed a pestle, or is it a mortar? MINE! nothing else, so i spent a grand total of $5.50

2nd sale was BAY VIEW. PRIME pack rat area. and man did they have the stuff. almost too much. fom what i heard an elderly couple with a handycapped son. had been out of the house for over a year. the house was boring. but ooh the stuff. spent almost an hour looking(long for me). i got 2 necklaces. 3 old tins, an old key ring with 3 keys. tiny one way cool. a really pretty handpainted dessert plate MINE, and lo and behold, another large planer. dang they are heavy.
i wish i could post pics of them. so cool.
now which do i list on ebay?

well, this week is ending on a positive note.

i had a second big earner. and to think i almost gave that silk map to my brother.
the WW2 silk battle map made $64.51. not bad for the $1 i paid for it.
now i just gotta find more stuff people really really want.

recipe hump day

DOUBLE FUDGE BROWNIES
in small sauce pan combine 1 1/2 cup sugar 2/3 cup butter(a little less makes them 'cakeier', a bit more for most for weeks.
1/4 cup water

bring o boil. remove from heaat add a regular bag of semi sweet chocolate chips. stir til mixed and melted

put in mixing bowl + add
2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cups flour

optional additions-chopped pecans or marachino cherries or anything similar you might wish to try
put in 9x12 pan

bake at 325 for about 45-55 minutes/til done

frosting?
2 heaping tsp of powdered cocoa. powdered sugar and heavy whipping cream. make enough to cover or more. frost when brwnies are cool. works better.

what??? WHAT???
i just went to my mail to check my ebay auctions. i have 8 ending. only the little bust of winston churchill at $10.50 was going for much, of course nothing was high. so i open the e-mail from ebay saying it ended.
13 bids. ooh, $25? $20?

102.60????????
ONE HUNDRED AND TWO????
it's 7 1/2 inches high! IT'S SPELTER!

it's from 1963.

wow. i guess that $4 i spent on it was a good deal. shit, makes my 1902 iron cherry pitter even more precious. and that house sucked. good thing i finally found it.

and then there is the 1943 WW2 silk battle map ofgermany and surrounding countries. way cool, but should go to somebody REALLY into it. rescued from an attic for $1. 2 bids up to $15.
