Antique AAA SCHOOL PATROL Hand Held Wooden SIGN – 1930s-$77
I was never a patrol boy, but my best friend was. I didn’t mind waiting for him after school – when the last straggling little First-Grader nonchalantly strolled out of the building, crossed the street and headed for home. I guess the main reason I didn’t sign up for patrol duty was because you had to show up early.
But, you know what? This sign is even before MY time! I believe it is from the mid to late 1930s. It is all wood, and the painted finish is worn just exactly right – precisely the way we love to find old stuff.
The finish on the handle is as mellow as can be thanks to being held in the air 100s of times so little Jack and Jill wouldn’t get run over by a car.
You may never see another of these old AAA patrol signs, and even if you do, it’s unlikely to be in this condition. If I were you, , ,
