RARE english THE BOOK OF CAKES 1903 color plates- $153
Cake cookbooks abound…but there is only ONE with this justifiably remarkable reputation - only ONE that is so rare it is avidly sought by collectors who want the extraordinary.
The book was published by Maclaren & Sons Offices of "The British Baker" London. The hardcover tooled green cloth binding has gilt title & black stamped design at top, bottom with black lettering of title (The Book of Cakes) on spine. There are 268 pages which include advertisements & an Index. And most enticing, there are 43 color (and numerous other) illustrations throughout the book.
