Maternal/Infant mortality was much higher back when this photo was taken. In some parts of the world such as sub-Saharan Africa, it is still commonplace. Even here in the U.S., the rate more than tripled in 2006.
This one is in one of those folding easel cases, and it has never been set up as an easel. Condition = Excellent
