*In the wintertime we walked to school in 3 to 4 feet of snow – uphill both ways – wearing nothing for shoes except old feed sacks wrapped around our feet, held in place with bailing wire – coats made of animal hides – always at risk of bear attacks and . . . Hang on a second. I accidentally made some of that up.
