RANDOM 341 OBJECTS

2 pcs. Vintage GERBINO VALLAURIS MOSAIC Mid-Century POTTERY, Ball Vase & BOWL -$89

Jean Gerbino (born 1905) was a French potter whose creativity operated outside the box. He came up with a new way of forming “coiled” pots that involved using little sections of clay he called “fillets,” adding them one by one as he form the body of the pot. These fillets were made up of mixtures of clay colors (neriage) which produced remarkable designs akin to imagines one would see through a kaleidoscope.
The most fascinating result of his new technique was that no two pots were alike, each having a unique combination of color and pattern.
