I believe the globe is a nice old one. The bottom rim shows the appropriate roughness for one that has been removed and set back down hundreds of times – just as it should. The ring that holds the globe and chimney was replaced during electrification. Dang! I wish I’d stayed awake in “Oil Lamp 101.” What a waste of an education. I have a degree in Chemistry, but it’s useless now. Back then we had only twelve elements on our Periodic Table, and we believed in Trickle-down / Robber Baron economics; pejoratively speaking, of course. I’m much abashed.
