Q: Dennis. My personal opinion is because I come from an area where were had war ships in the rev and 1812 wars and a lot of fittings were made here in vergennes that this is a boarding grabble used on the end of a long pole for boarding a ship there are also boarding hooks. But I do think this is a grapple Also they get used in the south to grapple alligators and drag them to the boats to shot them Apr-05-11
