wed. google earth said mansion on lake shore dr. it was! 'retro' early 1900's movie's 'castle in spain'. get an awesome parking spot, but winter regs + mom had to move the car. some people dray children to sales. i drag my mom + brother. and epals. so. walk up, get a few pics. walk in. must take off your shoes. oh wait. i have no shoes. sit, don't put on my flash so enough. the round entry hall has ribbing details. cute window. go in the hall door. 2 matching heavy wood carved archways and a very big middle hall, livingroom to the right. dinningroom to the left, stairs in front to the right. i go left to find the kitchen, walk thru dinning room. look into the dish/collectables glass front cabinets. not much but eeew. cheesy southwest pottery. dinning table too big with the big cabinets ad other stuff. cool arches. did they make spanish plaster flat walls? some of it i think. go to 'solarium'. french doors, nice old tiled floor. nice upholsterd furinture, but not when i sat in it. built in bookcases! books $$$. nothin i want anyways. go in kitchen. all redone. bah. no pantry, no history. sad. huge and no chracter, tho the cabinets not bad, but the handles + such waywayway to mod. the island aussie sized. tooooooo big. but i grabbed a bread knife w/ faux mother of pearl handle. 1st i had looked at a pro chef knife. mention to the little old lady next to me they are expensive. she read the off metal on the blade + wandered off with it. no mind, i have one and never use it.
i did find a little ceramic pot who i remember, he was at a art fair used to do nearby. my aunt has some of his. pansy also broke a bigger bowl like it. only $1. take. and a silver fork.
basement. it appears judith and edward liked frogs and snowmen. did i find the cadnles down there or the kitchen? kitchen i think. go upstairs to the front of the house, make was to the grand staircase. it is the 1st few hours the 1st day, so lots of people. take some pics. master bedroom. i had beds on the diagonal. isn't that been there done that yet? reading alcove, nothing. big fireplace. huge closet. nice sweater $$$, no. mom has grabbed a silverplate windchime i have seen at fairs and wanders off, i can tell where she is. i got into a bedroom. all, that's where the candles were. and a 10,000 maniacs CD. take that. and the candles and just in case. huge dictionary. must chck it. no. no poontang. leave, nothing else on 2nd floor but peek into bathroom. no visible toilet. behind the door? bathtub?
go downstairs and check livingroom. perfumes by the archway. ooh calvin klein unsure which. spray, some accidently in my mouth. smelled great and tasted not bad. but $$$. nothing in livingroom. nothing by the desk. nothing. big frank lloyd book, but $45. no.
i checkout. go outside. started to snow. brrr. take more pics.
