RANDOM SOUPED UP CAR POST

impala

Comments:
Been in the espresso again, eh?

I'm downstairs.

1958 Impala.
Not to be confused with the middle of the line BelAir or the seldom seen Biscayne.

don't know if i've seen a biscayne. still trying to find a saratoga that i was saw in person. i never saw fins so big in my life.

expresso?

I have always assumed the Biscayne was rare (my personal observation) because it was the bottom of the Chevy line and if you were driving a Chevy, you were at the bottom of the GM line.
The low-end Pontiac Catalina seemed more common, but not as common as the step-up Bonneville; but in the case of the Catalina, you were driving a Pontiac.
Ever read Vance Packard's "The Hidden Persuaders"?

nope.

catalina was the bottom? i had a catalina. a 67' i think. now that was a beast. LOVELY to drive it. tho no shoulder harness did make me nervous.
