On death of L XI, sued by family from talmont + had to pay damages. plotted against regent Anne de beaujeu + joined the orleans, was arrested in 1489. banished to his estates for 10 years + pay bail. recalled in 1492. opposed expedition of charles VIII. took part in trety of vercelli. retired, but many law suits against him til died. wrote memroirs.
