CENSUS-blah blah. 1st attempted in britain(not ireland) in 1801. USA-1st in 1790and 10 yrs after.
CENTURION- officer in infantry who commanded 100 men, but afterwards indefinate #. 2 grades, to drill soldiers and to appoint tasks and power to punish minor offences.
CERBERUS- greek mythology. dog guarding the entrance of hades, not against incomers, but against any who may try to escape. in HESIOD he is many headed monster w/ a tail of a snake.
CERES- roman goddess of seed and harvest. whorshipped w/ liber(bachus) and libera proserpine. demeter-greek goddess of seeds and harvest.
