RANDOM WWI POST

the writer told a story of new american troops arriving in paris in 1917. they were lined up after their troop train arrived. told to pull out their tin cups. the military was very 'dry'. no liquor ever. in paris now. the pretty young paris girls gave each soldier a cup of coffee with a bit of cognac. he told of one older soldier who after a sip, thought a bit. then realizing what was in the coffee, said he would like another.
