CAROLINE, Amelia Augusta 1768-1821. wife of George IV. 2nd daughter of Charles William Ferdinand, duke of Bruswick-wolfenbutlel. strict childhood. 1795 married to G IV, prince of wales, who disliked her and seperated after birth of daughter in 1796. since G IV was a bad boy, she was favored. 1806, bad girl. investigated in 1814. left england and traveled europe. G IV king in 1820. prevented C being Queen. she came back to england. divorce proceedings, but recognized queen, but not allowed coronation. died soon after.
