RANDOM NATURE POST

i was outside yesterday. i had earlier noticed the caterpillars on my parsley. and i took some pics of them and then said, gee, i am gonna post a pic of this pretty plant that either came from a bird shit, or the squirrel gave us another present. and then i noticed this weird seed pod on the perennial geranium.

Comments:
i hate to tell ya this but i squished a whole bunch of those caterpillar things this year that you have on your parsley there. They are pretty though, and they will turn into swallowtail butterflys... but they almost destroyed my dill. They love dill and will eat the entire plant if ya don't stop em. So i had to stop em. And I did. sigh.

tch tch, you couldn't move em?
i must say they have left copious poops.
i haven't used the parsley much. i put it in my spaghetti sauce last week.
next time move the pretty squatters. tho they don't move readily i admit.

yeah, i did at first...flung em off away from the garden (let em find sumpin else to munch on)... figured the birds might eat em too. but then they were everywhere and they can finish off a dill plant pretty quick so i turned em into organic compost.

sounds like you have WAY more than my measly 2, so i guess you aren't harming their population. as long as ya didn't mush them all.

i haven't gotten many cherry tomatoes as the chippies are quicker, but i am not gonna squish the little bastards.
sigh.
