RANDOM EBAY POST-now with pictures!
milwaukee has one estate sale company that has $3 grab bags to clear houses. i got a silverplate pie server at a crappy sale. tho i have gotten a bid on the las vegas dice clock. this did better than good. final $-$25
i almost hoarded the elephant heads. carved in africa, MIRRORED! which i can appreciate. but i resisted as i don't much care for elephants. they paid for a so so sale. oy, only the basement had anything worth taking.
the screwdriver is so neat. a pre power power screwdriver, hold the bit end, and it telescopes. 1926 patent date. paid for and more a so so sale. loves that $3 bag!

I took a quick look at the one with a description - may have seen on your father's ....
It was about 3 entries down. Haven't a clue how to post this as a link but the key part is : nickh.org
If I remember correctly, you can use it as a drill if you have bits that match the chuck mechanism. It's been a long time since I used one.

well, it was made in massachusetts i think. seems way better than the eggbeater drill.
i probably mentioned it when i posted about the estate sale. i love going in the basement to check out tools and such. my grandpa had a beautiful old work bench. thick wood planks. big old screw vice attached. sigh.
