RANDOM ESTATE SALE POST-2 SALES!
1st sale. a tad out of my way, but from listing thought maybe carnival glass and other goodies as it was teasure traders. nope, lots of 'collectable' pottery-roseville and SHIT like that. but did find some things. a furniture store give-away desk calendar with pen holder. 20's-40's era. not sure. ebay or i have started a new collection.(have an old marble and brass bank one and a flat globe one). a small petrified wood chunk for 25% off 50ยข, a copper + brass pitcher that came with some awful plastic flowers, but some old good fake weeds(ebay?) and a ruler advertising to vote for Beaudry for judge. 'SWEEP OUT THE FREELOADERS" (but why a ruler? can't sweep with a ruler you putz).spend $7.20(25% off day-would have been $9.60)
oh, the house was icky, but bet it sells for $300k.
2nd sale. not familiar with the 'sellers'. newer post WW2 home. go to garage. ooh, interesting upholstered furniture and a shitload of boxes. hmm.
HEY! is that? YES! it's a heater. outlet, where's an outlet? it was light and big and unusual. smoking lady poited one out, was worried about plugging it in, but the cord looked good. is it working??? squat down and stare at the coils. ooh, i see some orange! yes! it worked. and smoking lady says $1. SOLD. o can always ebay this oddity.
oy. go into house. kitchen, no kitchen stuff, and catch site of somebody clearly with a sickness. blown glass has exploded in the small livingroom. and the divider between it and dining area. not cheap either. hmm, a wood crane collection. hmm, that elephant taint bad. but i hate elephants. but but but he is hand carved in kenya! and heavy.and 'ivory' tusks(short-broken?) and inlaid eyes. $2. take him. carved well. did you know elephant feet have 'prints', like fingerprints? and toenails? (at my cousin's wedding at his future RICH inlaw's house had a elephant garbage can by the bathroom-yes, i notice EVERYTHING-also the meissen porcelain and the colonial furniture. SHIT, somebody is gonna leave a ring on that 1700's table!). do quick check of bedrooms. ick ick ICK. more odd collections. oh, did i mention the precious moments in the kitchen??? ICK POO ACK ACK! make hummels look good! do basement. crap upon crap. hey, now that branch of glass 'grapes' looks older and more natural.$3, but early 1900's. take that. nothing else. SO, $6. ay home i discover they had used brown tape around the old wire 'grapes'. either the 'branch was ickey, or maybe what originally was thjere is gone. take it off and rearrange it. put in basket with the antique glass ball fishing net floats(yes, another collection).
the petrified wood is nice. quite small and very smooth. definately a keeper. i should sell that other big chunk. not that it gets much on ebay.
oh. apparently we had a winter storm today. or they said we would. didn't even get 2 inches. they SAID up to eight. PFFT.
i wish i could pos a pic of the heater, grapes, desk dater, and and, um, farmer?
