sign in to your account - go to the "Settings" page - at the bottom will be the Compose option. I think it says "Show compose mode..." select YES from the menu and then click the SAVE button at the bottom of the page (to save the new setting).

Next time you publish you should have both compose and html options. Maybe the pic upload button will show up then too. It should work in both the Compose and the HTML modes.
