well, i did went to 2 estate sales yesterday. 1st one. a bit north of where i would usually go, and i was rewarded for my distance. i found the most beautiful old potato smoosher. i collect them. bird's eye maple and so perfect and smooth. i would have paid $10 for it. but only had to pay $1.50-1/2 price! i wish i could post a pic!
also some ebayables. a toledo, SPAIN letter opener. looks early 1900's.and the house did NOT look promising. 2nd. well now, that was lake drive house tour time. my the spanish plaster in this one. a mix of styles. 'rose', melange, and frosting stiped. horrid decor. odd mix. lots of pacific northwest art and ethnic stuff. ooh, present for the potter! carved gorrilla. maybe he will like it. but the most interesting thing i saw was a very old fire plug. which i photographed. it had been there since 1879! wow.
