today i hit two estate ssales. both bungalows. both with nice woodwork and leaded glass. but OY, the rugs. and most of the stuff.
of course i found more at the non open house sale. they lie like rugs.
unfortunately it was the 1st day, but i still found good ebayables. and best buy was a 1940-50's cool westinghouse fan. $2 as is. huh? turned it on. it worked. yes, it didn't really oscilate like it should. but it was in good condition, so i hauled it to the 1s floor. got a little old fashioned 'east lake' saw. ANOTHER SAW ?!? a wooden little bowl with a handle. says snacks and has a rooster on it. now that has charm. that could be good. a spatula with most of the paint missing, but the spatula part is different. an a sewing collectable.
quick, gotta get to the other one before it closes. not in a 'goodneighborhod' as my mom says. i say middle/lower class black. but old houses. this house had some damage and oh my, the paint. but at least it had colors i suppose. and lovely wood. but not much to buy. although i did find a 30's thesaurus. and a keychain with a brass oval-Captain's quarters SS "TITANIC". not sure why somebody would make that. but it appeals to me.
