ONE MAVERICK, POLITICALLY EXPERIENCED WASHINGTON INVESTMENT BANKER, CATHERINE AUSTIN FITTS, CONCLUDED THAT THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION DID MANAGE A LATE 2001 ENRON BAILOUT OF SORTS BY FAILING TO SEIZE CONTROL OF ALL THE DOCUMENTS IN THE CASE, IN EFFECT ALLOWING EXTENSIVE SHREDDING BY ENRON AND AUTHOR ANDERSON ALIKE, AND PERMITTING THE JANUARY 2002 SALE OF ENRONONLINE, THE COMPANY'S TRADING VEHICLE, TO THE UNION BANK OF SWITZERLAND, A MAJOR ENRON CREDITOR. THAT SALE MAY HAVE CAUSED THE INFORMATION NEEDED TO EXPLAIN KEY PORTIONS OF WHAT HAPPENED TO PASS UNDER RESTRICTIVE SWISS LAW.
