ok, i am a little late, but hey, had a family 'do'.
now which recipe, which i used this week? salisbury meatballs? or deluxe ham?
ah, i was planning on salisbury meatballs.
i use
2 lbs of 'minced' meat. if you supermarket meat-do sirloin.
1 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs or about 4 slices ground up
2 eggs
and 2/3 c milk. i usally just eyeball it.
1 or 2 onions sliced
1 cup catsup/ketchup
1 cup A1 or your preference steak sauce. but the fruitier the better.
red wine if you wish.
and some water to get the balls smothered.
i am sure i need not explain how to make meatballs, but i like to brown in butter real good.
put it all together and bake 2 hours or so. does best on baked potatos, but noddles works.
you can also make 1/2 that in a covered frying pan.
deluxe ham?
any cheap ham. slice it crisscross.
insert cloves where lines cross. about 15 or so of the buggers.
mix any mustard and brown sugar and a little red wine and cover ham
impale pinapple rings to ham
pour more red wine over that.
bake at 350 or so a couple hours.
i personally like rice (brown rice real good) ith this ham as it make an awesome, um...gravee.
