so, reading the 1903 EB again and trying to finish the entry on Frederick II of prussia.(1712-1786) and i found a goodie. Frederick (called the 'great'-was a big warrior dude) never abandoned his 'jealousy(archaic usage?)of austria, whoseambition he regarded as the chief danger, against europe had to guard.
okay, he just happened to be off by 100 or so years.but pretty prescient.
