antique stone fruit marble, apples, pear, plum, peach- $205
Authentic carved stone marble fruit seems to have vanished from the market, at least in the area of the market I roam. I found these and a few more pieces in an estate in southern Indiana just last week. Each piece is at the highest level of realism – unlike stone fruit post WWII.
Keep an eye on your guests. One of them may think they’re real and break a tooth – then drag you into court . . . for “involuntary battery” I guess. (You could, I reckon, counter with a pretty good case for “negligent stupid.”)
