FOLLET, SIR WILLIAM WEBB(1798-1845)- attorney general of england. son of benjamin collet, wh retired in 1790, mother an irish lady. superior ability as a child + the father pushed him to law. 1814 trinity college. in 1818 BA + settled in london, pupil of the most eminent pleaders below the bar + joined them in 1825. zealous. 1830 married the oldest daughter of sir ambrose gifford, chief justice of ceylon. parliament seat in 1835. blah blah, knighted, but ill health, failing in 1835, so severe he retired.
